1.]Overview about google
Larry Page and Sergey Brin
a.)Birth of a "Search Engine"
Beginning in 1996, Stanford University graduate students Larry Page and Sergey Brin built
a search engine called “BackRub” that used links to determine the importance of
individual web pages. By 1998 they had formalized their work, creating the company you
know today as Google.
Google's search technology quickly took off, and the company now says
it's the most popular search engine in the world in terms of users. From offering search in a single
language Google now offer dozens of products and services—including various forms of
advertising and web applications for all kinds of tasks—in scores of languages. And
starting from two computer science students in a university dorm room, Google now has
thousands of employees and offices around the world.
"Google’s mission is to organize the world‘s information and make it universally
accessible and useful."
b.)Origin of the word "GOOGLE"
Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin named the search engine they built “Google,” a play
on the word “googol,” the mathematical term for a 1 followed by
100 zeros. The name reflects the immense volume of information that exists, and the
scope of Google’s mission: to organize the world’s information and make it universally
accessible and useful.

1.Google Search engine
It is the most popular search engine in the world having so much patronage that a new word "google" has been introduced which mean "search or searching on google"
2.Gmail
The free E-mail service offers it all.Storage,protection,chatting and everything a mail service should offer.
3.Google Earth & Maps
Using state of art Technology,Google earth and maps have mapped the entire world.In some parts(like in U.S.A and U.K) you can actually get a realtime 3d view of places which is quite unthinkable but true
4.Google Adwords
Google's Revenue comes mostly from AdWords, a targeted advertising program, which is the largest in the industry.
5.Blogger
Google offers blogging ability to its users through state of art blogging services.
6.Picassa
Google has its own photo sharing site picassa which is built for sharing photos.
other than this Google has also entered the operating system world with Chrome OS,owns social networking sites Orkut and recently started Google+.
3.]Impact on the Technical world
Google has impacted the way we think.It is giving us whatever information we want at any point in space and time as long as internet connectivity is available.It has made its imprint in carious fields such as video and photo-sharing,social networking, Blogging, advertising to name a few.
Today, Google employs 12,000 people worldwide, with 40 sales,
operations and engineering offices, including New York; Ann Arbor,
Mich.; Atlanta; Chicago; London; Paris; Rome; Tokyo; and Sydney,
Australia, in addition to its headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.It has become a brand ambassador of internet to all the people who associate the search engine with the internet.Thus,It has become the modus operandi of today's generation.

a.]Pros
i.)Free :
Most of the Google services are free to use like Gmail, Blogger, Adsense, Picassa etc
ii.)Easy to use :
Google's services are self explanatory and easy to use/
iii.)Unbiased Information as and when you need:
Google is known for its search effective engine and provides unbiased information.
iv.)Security :
Till date Gmail remains the only Email service which is not hacked.Other services are also very safe and secured.
v.)Liked account service :
once you get a google account you can use the same one to access all the other services.So no need to create different accounts everytime.
b.]Cons
i.)Discourages Productive thinking :
Due to the readiness of information,Creative thinking of the human mind is reduced.
ii.)Cannot restrict exposure to bad things like pornography,violence and other stuff :
Google being a neutral search engine can make young minds prey to pornography,voilence and many other unethical things in life
iii.)Trying to butt in everything :
Google today is expanding its sphere by coming into social networking with google+ and also lauching Chrome Os for coming into operating System world,but this is unncessarily causing nuisance to the already established and deserving services.
5.]Final Statement
There is no denying google has shaped how we life today but as every good thing in life comes with its disadvantages Google is no different.But these Disadvantages can be overlooked as they can be controlled at an indivisual level.Hence i would say Google is one of the leading companies in the world and rightly so!
